We would like to apologise for the recent problems on the gaming network. The problem has been isolated to once or twice a day and despite our best efforts to rectify the problem, it’s just not been possible.

However, we never say die here at Clan-Hosts so we have taken the initiative to look at our existing infrastructure and see how we can provide our customers with the best gaming experience possible. I am pleased to announce that we have invested a considerable amount of money in new hardware. We have purchased a Juniper M7i router to which will become our new primary core.

There is a lot of work going to be happening over the next week, fresh CAT 5 cables are going to be run to each of the racks switches, the router being installed and configured etc. Then over the course of next weekend (14th and 15th of November) we will be switching over.

We aim to keep our customers during this migration online as much as possible, most of the work will be completed while the old Foundry routers are still keeping the network alive, however, during the actual swap over there will have to be a small amount of time where the network goes down. We will do our best to do this at a time where it doesn’t affect customers too much and will post on the forum when it’s happening when we know ourselves.

I will keep this thread up to date as much as possible, but please be assured we are aware of the problems and promise you they will be gone very soon.

If anyone is interested in the router and its capabilities, here is a link to Junipers site on the model we have ordered. http://www.juniper.net
